Found this really pretty edition of Jandy Nelson’s The Sky is Everywhere. The hardcover edition was available, too, but I prefer paperbacks and this was way prettier than the hardcover. My copy comes with a blue elastic band that wraps around the book—-perfect when carrying it around in my bag!
And look! Pretty blue text on cream paper.

Love the graphics, too!

Definitely excited to read this book and not just because it looks pretty. I read the blurb as well as earlier reviews on the YA book blog circuit—looks like a good read. But I might just put this on hold for now since I’m in the middle of reading this one:

Great reads this week!
Went book and bookmark shopping in three different bookstores this morning. Happy, happy, happy and yet I am also poor, poor, poor!
VEEEEEEERRRRRRRYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOD! Love it. So funny!
Cillian Murphy singing So New.
Hello, perfect human being with a perfect face and pretty, pretty eyes. You sound quite nice, too.
What am I doing right now? I am enjoying the free access to scholarly journals on library and archival studies, and on books and reading. I’m geeking out on these articles. Love it.
(Yes, I still miss reading fiction, but these articles will have to do for now.)
Lately it’s all been graduate school readings and texts for me. As awesome as library studies is, I need a break to read just for fun, just for me.
Finally visited the (up to 80% off) sale at Powerbooks. Only bought 3 books! It’s a combination of self-restraint and an almost empty wallet. But I’m still happy with my book loot: A Traveller’s History of England, Coming of Age in Children’s Literature, and Afternoons with Emily. All under Php 200 or $4.50. Not bad, I say.
Watched Inception last night! It’s an ingeniously-crafted nesting doll of ideas, blurs between dreams and reality, and awesome zero-gravity fights. Intellectually overwhelming, but in a good way.
And that Joseph Gordon-Levitt…whew! Love him in a suit and slicked back hair. Hot.
